We have created a poem that you might like to read to your little one as a way of helping them to understand the importance of difference. It is designed to help them appreciate their own differences and to be accepting of their own uniqueness.
Let us talk a bit more about Hug-a-Bugs:
Some are soft and squidgy, some are hard as rocks,
some are long and stripey, and some are round with spots.
Some bugs are noisy when they flap their wings,
and other bugs do other things:
The Snail has tentacles helping him to smell,
they seem to serve him very well.
Some beetles recycle by cleaning up waste,
they work really hard and stay on the case
Some bugs have shells and others have wings,
They all have a mix of different things
The world we live in is such a wonderful place,
with an array of colour and such beautiful grace.
