Hug-a-Bug World is filled with fun stories that you can read with your young child. Hug-a-Bug World is filled with beautifully unique bugs of differing colour and character with the aim to encourage children to explore and accept their differences. Encouraging children to explore with curiosity helps them to value difference and to understand the strengths in uniqueness. All our characters have names with a meaning attached to explain their nature and personal strengths. Their names have been chosen to reflect the diversity of the world and help promote inclusion.
As well as bolstering resilience, strengthening relationships and encouraging inclusion in the world, Hug-a-Bug World is written from a counselling perspective. The material is focused on fostering social and emotional wellbeing. We hope to provide parents and carers with supportive content without adding more to their load. We are here to support, not burden.
Our content has been written with input from two counsellors who share a wealth of experience working with families. Through Hug-a-Bug World they share the tools, techniques and strategies that have helped many families along the way.
